JOB TITLE: Shift Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Kitchen

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef or General Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of a Restaurant Shift Supervisor is to lead, manage, and support the restaurant team during a specific shift to ensure smooth operations, exceptional customer service, and the achievement of operational goals. They act as a bridge between management and frontline staff, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, standards are maintained, and the team is motivated and productive.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assign servers, bartenders, bussers, cashiers’ stations
2. Ability to assign tasks to staff
3. Ability to supervise staff to ensure that all tasks are completed on time
4. Ability to adjust staffing levels as necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Prior work experience as a shift supervisor preferred
2. In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
3. Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
4. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and corporate goals

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
2. Must be willing to work swing shifts, weekends and holidays as directed by management
3. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
