About the Role

Custom Air & Plumbing is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Rough-In Technician to install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems during the initial construction phase of residential projects.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installs ductwork systems, including flex, rigid, and metal duct, according to engineered plans and mechanical layouts
  • Installs refrigerant line sets, condensate drain lines, and venting systems
  • Ensures proper duct strapping, sealing, and insulation
  • Ensures correct pitch and support of drain lines to prevent operational issues
  • Coordinates with builders and other trades during the construction phase to ensure efficient workflow and code compliance.
  • Maintains job site cleanliness
  • Adheres to safety standards
  • Verifies that all installations meet local mechanical codes
  • Communicates material needs, project progress, and any field issues to their supervisor.

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • 2+ years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience 
  • Experience reading blueprints, laying out duct systems, setting equipment platforms, and ensuring all rough-in work meets local building codes and company standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 
  • Professional attitude and strong customer-service mindset
