Job DetailsJob Location: Anchin Pavilion - Sarasota, FL 34235Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00At Aviva Senior Living, We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Assistant to help plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational, educational, and social activities for our residents. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, has a positive attitude, and is committed to enhancing residents' quality of life through meaningful activities. Responsibilities: Assists with planning, coordinating activities: reality orientation, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events, and one-to-one visits, as indicated. Assists with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter. Performs and directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas. Maintains accurate documentation of resident’s activity attendance. Plans and coordinates activities in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director. Assist with coordinating special events (such as family nights and private resident parties). Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Schedule: This position offers a flexible part-time schedule, including: Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Additional flexible hours available throughout the remainder of the week based on programming needs and candidate availability. One year’s experience in a social or recreational program in a senior health care setting, specifically in memory care.  Must have working knowledge of appropriate Microsoft Office programs. Must possess high energy/enthusiasm, decision making, problem solving, planning/organization, and rapport building skills. Must be able to pass a level 2-background screening and a drug test. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push residents in wheelchairs. Must be able to read and speak English.  Must be able to hear, and be able to sit and walk intermittently throughout the day.       Â
