This August, the YMCA of Southwest Florida is expanding our Before & After School Care program into 4 new elementary schools, and we’re building an incredible team to bring energy, creativity, and leadership to our sites.
Whether you’re just starting your journey working with kids or you’re ready to lead a team and run a site, we’re hiring Program Leaders at all levels—and we’ll place you in the right role based on your experience and strengths.

What You’ll Do
Every day, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where kids can learn, grow, and thrive.Depending on your experience, your role may include:
Working Directly with Kids
- Lead fun, age-appropriate activities like games, crafts, sports, and enrichmentÂ
- Build meaningful relationships with students and familiesÂ
- Support children’s social, emotional, and physical developmentÂ
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment at all timesÂ
- Help create structure, routines, and a positive group dynamic Â
Program Leadership & Site Support (for experienced candidates)
- Help oversee daily site operations and program flowÂ
- Support or lead staff, ensuring activities are organized and engagingÂ
- Communicate with families and school partnersÂ
- Assist with planning special events, spirit days, and family engagement opportunitiesÂ
- Ensure program quality, safety standards, and licensing compliance Â
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are:
- Energetic, positive, and passionate about working with kidsÂ
- Dependable and team-orientedÂ
- Strong communicators who can connect with children and familiesÂ
- Creative and ready to jump into activities and playÂ
- Organized and able to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentÂ
Experience & Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old (21+ for higher-level leadership responsibilities)Â
- Experience working with children preferred (school, camp, childcare, sports, etc.)Â
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus (for advanced roles)Â
- Ability to pass background screening and meet YMCA/DCF requirementsÂ
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)Â
Schedule
- Morning shifts (Before School)Â
- Afternoon shifts (After School)Â
- Flexible part-time schedules availableÂ
