Markertek, a div. Tower Products Incorporated, is a highly specialized broadcast and pro-audio supply house serving the technical side of the media industry. We are currently looking for a Jr. Custom Quoting Specialist who has passion, know-how, and the desire to take behind-the-scenes customer service to the next level. It’s a responsive and responsible attitude that our customers count on.

As the Jr. Custom Quoting Specialist, you will be an integral member of the custom quote management team, supporting the execution of custom-designed projects involving metal panels, copper cabling, and fiber optics. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, technical design and drawing, client engagement, and workflow management within the manufacturing divisions of Tower Products Incorporated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of Custom Quoting Specialists in the planning, coordination, and execution of custom design projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering/R&D, Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams, to facilitate project implementation and delivery.
  • Track project progress and update project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and deliverables, to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Sales Team and Team Leader.
  • Provide technical support to your team, assisting in the development of project designs, drawings, and specifications for custom metal panels, copper cabling systems, and fiber optics.
  • Assist in the review and validation of technical documentation and vendor specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Provide technical information to CAD Drafter for builds that require technical drawings with build instructions for all metal, copper, and fiber projects.
  • Schedule custom builds, work orders, and rush work orders to meet current lead times and requested rush dates.
  • Review open projects to determine possible substitutions and second sourcing to maintain lead time.
  • Effectively coordinate work orders across multiple manufacturing departments to ensure timely completion of projects, working closely with the Team Leader and Work Order Coordinator.
  • Quote and develop creative and innovative solutions for custom metal products, copper cabling, and fiber optic projects.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to relay information and quotes, develop proposals, and coordinate orders processed by clients.
  • Ensure that all designs and solutions meet technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain communication with the Purchasing Department, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize project outcomes.
  • Coordinate with vendors to procure materials, equipment, and services required for project implementation, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Take initiative to seek opportunities to learn from senior team members to leverage their expertise to grow professional skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and skill development, take ownership of tasks, and request feedback from the Team Leader and Senior team members to improve performance.
  • Ability to seek assistance as necessary, and where required, from colleagues and management 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment 
  • Employees are required to read and follow the employee manual distributed by Tower Products Incorporated and the Quality Policy Statement.

  • Aptitude to learn different software packages utilized in the role.
  • CAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand internal procedures and policies
  • Able to understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
