Veterinary Assistant
Location: Saugus, MA
Schedule: Full-Time | Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts and 1 Saturday a month 
Pay Range: $18-$22 (Based on experience)

Saugus Animal Hospital is a growing three-doctor practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a compassionate and dependable Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant who is eager to learn, loves working with animals, and thrives in a collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care and wants to build their skills alongside experienced veterinarians and technicians.

What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient appointments and procedures

• Properly restrain animals for exams and treatments

• Prepare exam rooms and surgical areas

• Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment

• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes to the medical team

• Collect and prepare lab samples

• Provide compassionate client communication and education

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment

What We’re Looking For

• Previous veterinary assistant experience 

• Strong animal handling and restraint skills

• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts

• Must be available for one Saturday per month
