Experienced BIM Designer / Mid-Level Landscape Architect/Designer

SWA Sausalito is seeking an Experienced BIM Designer / Mid-Level Landscape Architect, Architect, or Designer with strong Revit and AutoCAD experience to support design and documentation on a wide range of high-caliber projects in the US and internationally.

This position is ideal for a design professional who is proficient in BIM workflows and interested in contributing as an integral member of project teams. The role will focus on supporting project documentation, Revit modeling, consultant coordination, and BIM deliverables up to LOD 350, in collaboration with SWA’s BIM Manager, project managers, and design teams.

Experience in landscape architecture or sitework is preferred; however, candidates with an architecture background and strong BIM documentation experience are encouraged to apply.

This is an in-person role in the Sausalito, CA studio. No remote option is available.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with project teams to develop design and construction document packages using Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM tools.
• Support project teams in setting up, organizing, and maintaining BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with model and data exchange between SWA and other project stakeholders.
• Review and support implementation of project BIM Execution Plans.
• Coordinate BIM models with consultants and assist with clash detection and model review as needed.
• Develop Revit families and project models to support documentation requirements up to LOD 350.
• Help support and mentor less experienced designers in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM documentation workflows.
• Contribute to the quality, consistency, and graphic clarity of project drawings and models.

Skills and Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, architecture, or a related design field.
• Professional degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing design and construction documentation in a BIM environment.
• Familiarity with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience with Navisworks and clash detection is preferred.
• Understanding of BIM coordination, model organization, and consultant model exchange.
• Knowledge of landscape architecture, site design, grading, and construction documentation is preferred.
• Strong modeling and drafting skills, with an eye for drawing quality and graphic clarity.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple project scales.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
