  • Location: Metform - Extrusion Sciences Building, Savanna, Illinois (2551 Wacker Road, Savanna, IL 61074)

  • Shift: 1st Shift

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • Employment: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

  • Work arrangement: Onsite

  • Pay: $16.50-$19.00 per hour, based on relevant experience

  • Additional premium: $2.00 per hour

  • Reports to: Production Supervisor

About the Role

Produce quality components through safe, accurate CNC machine operation.

As a CNC Machine Operator at MacLean-Fogg, you will operate CNC equipment, monitor production, inspect completed components, interpret blueprints, and make basic machine adjustments. You will also complete production and quality records and communicate equipment or product concerns to the appropriate team members.

This is an operator-level position focused on safely running established CNC processes and maintaining consistent quality and production performance.

What You Will Do

  • Operate assigned CNC machines according to work instructions and production requirements

  • Monitor machine performance and respond to basic equipment or process concerns

  • Inspect completed components to verify that they meet applicable quality requirements

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and written work instructions

  • Use basic measuring instruments to verify component dimensions

  • Make approved machine adjustments and complete basic troubleshooting

  • Identify and communicate equipment, tooling, process, or quality concerns

  • Complete production, inspection, and other required documentation accurately

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures

  • Support production priorities and other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read and follow verbal and written work instructions

  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints

  • Basic mathematical and computer skills

  • Ability to complete production and quality records accurately

  • Ability to work independently within established procedures

  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and internal customers

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. onsite in Savanna

  • Regular and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous CNC or industrial machine-operation experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience using basic measuring instruments

  • Experience completing in-process quality inspections

  • Experience performing basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments

  • Completed components meet applicable quality requirements

  • Inspections and production records are accurate and complete

  • Equipment and quality concerns are identified and communicated promptly

  • Assigned production priorities are completed safely and efficiently

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity for machine controls and part handling.

  • Visual acuity for dimensional inspection and reading displays.

  • Work in manufacturing environments with noise, oil, and vibration.

  • Consistent use of PPE required.
