Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Quality Inspector for 3rd Shift at our Savanna, Illinois manufacturing facility. You will inspect materials, components, and finished products, document results, and help ensure they meet established quality and reliability standards.

Pay: $18-$22 per hour

What You'll Do as a Quality Inspector
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished products to verify they meet specifications.
Conduct first-piece inspections before full production begins.
Use and maintain measuring and gaging instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and height gauges.
Record inspection results and statistical data in applicable tracking systems and logs.
Identify nonconformities and quality concerns, communicate findings, and escalate issues to quality staff or supervisors.
Complete inspection records, nonconformance reports, and other quality documentation accurately and thoroughly.
Maintain a clean, organized inspection area in accordance with 5S principles.
Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
No formal education credential is required.
Zero to two years of experience.
Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects, deviations, and nonconformities.
Basic verbal and written communication skills for documenting results and reporting quality concerns.
Basic math skills for working with measurements, dimensions, tolerances, and statistical data.
Basic knowledge of quality-control tools and measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Basic computer skills for entering data and preparing inspection reports.
Ability to collaborate with inspectors, production employees, and supervisors while contributing to solutions that improve product quality.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role involves working in a manufacturing inspection and production environment, inspecting materials and products at different stages of the production process and using precision measuring instruments. Employees in this role must maintain a clean inspection area and follow applicable safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
