About the role
Hotel Bardo Savannah is seeking an Assistant Director of Front Office to support the leadership and daily execution of our Front Office operation. This role serves as a key leader within the department, helping ensure a polished, seamless, and highly personalized guest experience from arrival through departure.
The ideal candidate brings proven Front Office Manager-level experience in a luxury or highly elevated upscale hotel environment. This individual is a hands-on operator, a strong coach, and a confident service leader who understands how to balance guest engagement, team performance, operational standards, and cross-departmental communication in a refined hospitality setting.
What you’ll do
- Support the Director of Front Office in leading daily Front Office operations, including Front Desk, Guest Services, Concierge, Bell/Door, and Night Audit functions.
- Serve as a visible leader throughout the lobby and guest arrival/departure experience, ensuring warm, polished, and anticipatory service.
- Help uphold Hotel Bardo’s luxury service standards, brand expectations, grooming standards, and operational procedures.
- Lead the Front Office operation in the absence of the Director of Front Office.
- Partner closely with Housekeeping, Reservations, Revenue, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Security to ensure clear communication and a seamless guest experience.
- Monitor room inventory, arrivals, departures, special requests, VIPs, group activity, and operational flow to support a smooth daily operation.
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and sound judgment, turning service opportunities into memorable experiences.
- Coach, train, and develop Front Office leaders and team members through regular feedback, service observations, and performance conversations.
- Support scheduling, staffing levels, labor efficiency, and daily deployment based on business needs.
- Reinforce a culture of accountability, recognition, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Review guest feedback, service scores, and online reviews, partnering with leadership on appropriate follow-up and action planning.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts for the Front Office team.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, emergency, cash handling, key control, and hotel operating procedures.
- Maintain a strong presence during peak business periods, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Front Office Manager experience in a luxury or highly elevated upscale hotel environment required.
- Prior experience in full-service luxury, resort, lifestyle luxury, or comparable high-touch hotel environments strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Front Office operations, guest arrival and departure flow, room inventory management, guest relations, and service recovery.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop Front Office team members and supervisors.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with polish, professionalism, urgency, and discretion in a luxury guest environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operation.
- Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Must be in or willing to relocate to Savannah, Georgia.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
