Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable CDL Driver for our Nu Pipe Division, based in or near Savannah, GA, with full willingness to travel extensively. This role is responsible for transporting equipment, materials, and machinery to and from job sites while assisting crews as needed. Candidates must be comfortable with overnight travel Sunday through Friday and working in outdoor construction environments.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and supplies to job sitesÂ
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspectionsÂ
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issuesÂ
- Load, unload, and secure materials and equipment safelyÂ
- Assist crews with general labor and construction support duties as neededÂ
- Maintain accurate DOT logs, mileage records, fuel usage, and delivery documentationÂ
- Follow all DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and company safety policiesÂ
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and crew membersÂ
- Ensure timely and safe deliveries to active project sitesÂ
- Travel overnight throughout the workweek as requiredÂ
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License requiredÂ
- 3–5 years of commercial driving experience preferredÂ
- Experience hauling equipment, materials, or heavy machinery preferredÂ
- Construction or underground utility industry experience preferredÂ
- Strong understanding of DOT compliance and safety proceduresÂ
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic vehicle maintenance needsÂ
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamÂ
- Strong communication skills and dependable work ethicÂ
- Must be willing to work a 10-days-on / 4-days-off rotational schedule with overnight travelÂ
- Must be based in or near Savannah, GA or willing to travel consistently
