Job Description

The Director of Memory Care is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Harmony Square neighborhood.

As the Director of Memory Care, you'll lead our Memory Care neighborhood by inspiring your team, partnering with families, and creating a warm, engaging environment where residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia feel safe, valued, and connected.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated Memory Care team through coaching, training, and ongoing support.

  • Foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, and exceptional resident-centered care.

  • Design and oversee engaging daily programs that promote purpose, connection, independence, and overall well-being.

  • Partner with the Life Enrichment, Clinical, Dining, and Leadership teams to provide a seamless, holistic experience for residents.

  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families while encouraging active participation in community life.

  • Create monthly calendars, special events, and outings that reflect each resident's interests, abilities, and life story.

  • Monitor resident well-being and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure individualized care plans remain current.

  • Participate in resident and family care conferences while serving as a trusted resource for families.

  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and stimulating Memory Care environment.

  • Partner with local organizations and community resources to enhance resident programming and family support.

  • Coordinate monthly caregiver education opportunities and dementia support resources.

  • Lead daily team huddles and neighborhood rounds to ensure excellent communication and quality of care.

  • Promote resident dignity, meaningful engagement, and person-centered dementia care throughout the community.

  • Maintain compliance with state regulations and Harmony Senior Services standards.

What You'll Bring

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in Recreation Therapy, Activities, Gerontology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three to five years of experience working with individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.

  • Previous leadership or management experience in senior living, Memory Care, or healthcare.

  • Experience developing engaging, person-centered programming for older adults.

  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of dementia care best practices and behavior support techniques.

  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) or dementia certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
