Support and troubleshoot installed Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) through field service, customer communication, and coordinated support with remote technicians (“remote hands”), including low-voltage cabling verification and documentation as needed. Document site conditions, report issues, and escalate risks to support DAS and Public Safety DAS (ERCES/ERRCS) performance and timely resolution. This role may progress to a Lead Technician position supporting both DAS and ERCES/ERRCS workstreams.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Travel 80–100% based on market and customer needs
- Complete work orders on schedule; update status, document work performed, and communicate issues/risks
- Provide guided troubleshooting and repair support with remote technicians (“remote hands”), including clear direction and verification of results
- Lead small field teams as needed to support and integrate cellular and DAS systems
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test DAS/RF systems using common test equipment and tools; support fiber/coax interconnects as needed
- Support Public Safety DAS (ERCES/ERRCS) service activities, documentation, and issue escalation to help ensure system readiness
- Share recurring issues and process improvement opportunities with management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: Working knowledge of low-voltage systems and structured cabling in commercial environments
- Experience using DAS and RF interconnect equipment (e.g., SOLID, ADRF, Comba)
- Familiarity with additional DAS solutions (e.g., CommScope) is a plus
- Professional communication and discretion when engaging customers on-site or remotely
- Comfortable with smartphones/computers and common field tools/test equipment
- Ability to meet pre-employment and client site eligibility/safety requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for coverage area
- Work independently in the field; manage priorities and documentation with minimal supervision
- Role leveling (Tech 1/Tech 2/Lead) is determined during hiring based on applicable experience, qualifications, and business needs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Carry and monitor company phone, be available and responsive during scheduled and non-scheduled hours, except during rest and meal periods as required by applicable state law
- Flexible in working hours as this position will require customer support during non-regular business hours, mandatory overtime on short notice, and/or weekend work as necessary
- Lift carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, with assistance available
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, and extended reach
- Regular grasping and repetitive hand movements.
