Senior Accountant - Savannah, GA

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated Senior Accountant to become an integral member of our accounting team. In this role, you will have exposure to various areas of the business and will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records, participating in the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with IFRS. The Senior Accountant will also be actively involved in various aspects of financial reporting. You will serve as a key point of contact for external audits and play a vital role in identifying efficiencies within our accounting workflows and developing and implementing process improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close: Active involvement in the period end closing process by performing complex account level analysis, as well as preparing and reviewing closing journal entries, accruals, and intercompany eliminations. Prepare account level analysis and balance sheet reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Technical Accounting Research: Assist in the research and documentation of the Company’s position on complex business transactions, as well as adoption of new accounting standards and policies under IFRS
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and reporting packages, ensuring all data is presented clearly and accurately.
  • ESG Reporting: Ownership of ESG and GHG emission data and prepare reports and submissions required for internal and external reporting compliance.
  • Audit Coordination: Assist in annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for accounting treatments.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls: Maintain and develop internal controls (SOX level compliance) to mitigate financial risk.

 

Qualifications And Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting (or another similar field). CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience. Big 4 or large public accounting experience is preferred but will consider individuals with experience in a mid-to-large corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, Macros, PowerQuery).
  • Experience with data analytics tools, such as Python or Alteryx, and experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively cross functionally.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
