Position Summary
The Process Technician is responsible for supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This role works closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and support new product introductions. A strong capability in data analysis, automation, and digital tools—particularly Microsoft Excel—is essential, along with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, CAD/CAM systems, and CNC programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve qualityÂ
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions in a timely mannerÂ
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructionsÂ
- Support new product launches, including process development, tooling, fixturing, and validationÂ
- Monitor and analyze production data (efficiency, scrap, downtime) to drive decision-makingÂ
- Develop and maintain Excel-based tools for tracking, reporting, and process optimizationÂ
- Automate repetitive tasks and reporting through advanced Excel functions (macros, VBA, Power Query) or other programming toolsÂ
- Collaborate with quality teams to investigate nonconformances and implement root cause corrective actionsÂ
- Assist in the design of fixtures, tooling, and production aids using CAD softwareÂ
- Support CNC machining operations, including program review, optimization, and troubleshootingÂ
- Interpret and, when necessary, create or modify CNC programs using G-code and M-codeÂ
- Work with CAM software to develop and optimize machining strategies (preferred)Â
- Work with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtimeÂ
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement efforts (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)Â
- Support cost reduction initiatives, including material usage and cycle time improvementsÂ
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standardsÂ
Qualifications
- Technical education, training, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing, machining, or engineering-related field required
 (Associate degree, trade school, apprenticeship, or relevant work experience all considered) - 2–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred)Â
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required), including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysisÂ
- Experience with Excel automation tools (VBA, macros, Power Query) strongly preferredÂ
- Programming or scripting experience (preferred) such as Python, SQL, or similar toolsÂ
- Experience with CAD software (preferred), specifically SolidWorks and/or AutoCADÂ
- Exposure to CAM software and CNC machining processes (preferred)Â
- Understanding of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code (preferred)Â
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsÂ
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&TÂ
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (preferred)Â
- Strong communication and teamwork skillsÂ

- Hands-on experience with CNC machining, fabrication, or assembly processesÂ
- Familiarity with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)Â
- Knowledge of process capability (Cp/Cpk) and statistical analysisÂ
