Primary Job Functions: Engage with customers and build loyal relationships Run contractors desk and POS (point of sale) register Create and maintain special orders Estimate required materials for projects Customer Service (help customers find what they need in a professional and courteous manner) Train and supervise cashiers on outside building material related items Assist outside salesman in various capacities Report problems and potential problems to management Secondary Job Functions: Help load merchandise for customers Help check in special orders and communicate with special order customer Answer telephone regarding quotes, special orders, or delivery directions QualificationsQualifications: H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred Professional communication skills Retail cashier experience is a plus Ability to count change back Very good math skills; with the ability to create and analyze quotes and reports Knowledge of hardware and building materials Ability to operate office machines, computers, and Excel is a plus Ability to identify and solve problems Ability to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays Attention to detail, accuracy is key Good physical condition for lifting
