We are excited to offer a full time position as a Medical Assistant in our small dermatology practice that has been serving the community for over 20 years.  We are looking for someone that likes to work in a practice that cares about it's employees and patients, where no one is treated as a number.  

Summary of Position: The Medical Assistant delivers excellent service and support to patients and
our Providers with the goal of delivering optimal clinical results for clients seeking dermatologic care
and cosmetic treatments for the face and body. Dermatologic care will include awareness, education
and treatment for warts, acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, vitiligo, and other skin disorders.  The Medical Assistant sets up treatment rooms as needed for dermatologic visits; ensures rooms, supply closets, bins and lab areas are clean, stocked and organized; maintains the lab and triages client phone calls and visit needs. It is important to keep client flow timely to the schedule. The Medical Assistant is expected to prepare clients for their visit, confirm all intake forms are complete and pertinent information documented accordingly, ensure
client has been educated on what to expect before, during and after their visit, and provide pre & post
care verbal & written instructions. Client education will include at-home care and recommendation
of retail products. Follows inventory and order management procedures for medical supplies. The
Medical Assistant’s primary role will be to serve in the medical dermatology side of the business, and
is also expected to support the Cosmetic business as instructed. Other responsibilities include the
proper administration of pre & post treatment photos; education and promotion of additional
services offered by the Practice for those seeking guidance in achieving healthy skin and a youthful
appearance through cosmetic procedures and skincare; building business and increased bookings
through active participation in networking events and workshops, community awareness, client
referrals, and trainings. Understand and uphold the company’s high standards of excellence by
abiding to policies stated in Employee Handbook. Each function is to be performed in accordance
with government regulations and company procedures.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum High School graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of valid medical assisting program
  • Minimum of 1 year as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Dermatology or Plastic Surgery
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Punctual
  • Ability to respond accordingly and in a timely fashion when directed by supervisors
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Team-oriented and adaptable
  • Excellent etiquette in person and over the phone
  • Skilled multi-tasker
  • Technologically savvy

Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Receive all clients and visitors without delay in a gracious manner, always with a smile
  • Prep exam room according to type of visit and procedure being performed
  • Ensure all proper paperwork is complete and provide client with applicable pre & post-treatment documents along with other educational materials as necessary
  • Brief Provider on client history, and communicate client’s concerns, goals and expectations for the visit
  • Administer subcutaneous injections as directed by the Provider
  • Administer phototherapy and laser treatments as directed by the provider
  • Prepare and document lab and pathology specimens for shipping/transport
  • Sterilize surgical equipment
  • Assist Provider during visits and procedures as directed
  • Educate clients properly in a method they understand regarding treatment & at-home care
  • Triage and communicate client care to Medical Director, Providers & Practice Manager daily
  • Conduct prior authorizations when necessary
  • In-depth understanding of dermatologic terms, cosmetic medicine and procedures
  • Monitor and conduct follow-ups for patients with history of skin cancer, in accordance to state/federal regulations and company protocol
  • Manage medical inventory and submit order requests per company guidelines
  • Update and manage specimen log
  • Maintain equipment systems and supply stock levels in exam rooms and lab
  • Maintain sample closet inventory and properly dispose of expired product
  • Document sample inventory on appropriate log
  • Assist providers with conducting proper client follow-ups
  • Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA requirements at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
