How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Perform advanced pharmacy technician functions, supporting pharmacists through clinical data collection and participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and coordinate special projects while overseeing auditing processes, barcode verification, controlled substance management, and billing operations, including LTC billing and Medicare Part D claim adjudication.

  • Serve as a technical resource for pharmacy automation and technology, including IV workflow systems, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, robotics, and compounding operations; provide troubleshooting and advanced cross-training.

  • Support regulatory compliance, inventory control, and drug shortage management; may function as a pharmacist extender and provide operational support across care delivery areas.


What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
    obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
