Role Summary/Purpose:

The Facilities Senior Electrical Engineer will support the site operations of GE Research.
• Develop electrical design drawings using AutoCad
• Generate electrical equipment material lists for procurement
• Work with Project Managers, Researchers and other staff disciplines
• Provide direction to Electricians, Technicians and other trade labor
• Perform field work to validate construction drawings with as-built conditions
• Participate in developing on-site facility electrical requirements
• Maintain/Update plant electrical single line diagrams
• Manage multiple activities simultaneously
• Utilize NFPA, New York State Building Code and OSHA regulations

• Provide leadership and indirect oversight of other Engineers
• Lead program maintenance and upgrades for site electrical systems – such as high voltage, fire alarm, toxic gas monitoring, lighting or emergency/backup power

• Perform troubleshooting and analysis for equipment and/or systems

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design
• US Citizenship is required
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
• Must be 18 years or older

The base pay range for this position is $111,900 - 186,500 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on April 30th 2026
