SUMMARY

Northeast Shared Services is looking for a Category Support Coordinator to join our dynamic Category Management team. The Coordinator operates as the center for their designated merchandising area, working to directly support the director and category managers, and to collaborate with professionals in various adjacent functional areas.  This mission critical role challenges the Coordinator to serve as the administrative go-to person for their team and colleagues and is a proven track for advancement in the merchandising area.  Many of our teammates in management positions began their career in this role. This role is integral to the success of our merchandising department and in supporting our stores. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support category plans and objectives through analysis and systems support for cost accuracy, confirmation that all funds are accounted for to fortify maximum gross profit. 
  • Work as liaison with vendor and broker partners to assist Category Managers.
  • Review financial and trade partner funding contracts for accuracy and adhere to strict deadlines for invoicing and other category management functions.
  • Review new item forms, perform record keeping and ensure appropriate trade partner funding is submitted for new item promotional pricing and slotting fees. 
  • Review base cost changes and ensure contracts for vendor funding are accurate as of the cost change effective date to ensure invoice accuracy and that sale retails are in line with new costs to ensure margin percentages are maintained.
  • Monitor item management and deal management reports and research for resolution. 
  • Perform other item management functions regarding item discontinue process, item conversion processes and item authorization changes to ensure the highest store service levels and item and cost accuracy.
  • Run sales and movement reports for manual billing requests, gross profit corrections and other data collection.
  • Review trade partner documentation for new vendor set-up process.
  • Assist stores for resolution with markdown/sale requests and retail discrepancies through research and analysis.
  • Coordinate high level communication with category managers, area directors, trade partners, C&S liaison, store management, along with supply chain, pricing, accounting, and marketing departments.
  • Works both independently and collaborates with other functional areas, for reports and projects. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfactory performance reviews
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
  • Takes initiative to anticipate needs and plan accordingly for reoccurring activities
  • Very proficient in Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of administrative experience
