Job DetailsJob Location: Schenectady-Park Place - Schenectady, NY 12304Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $27.00 - $28.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 50% Child-Focused Adoption Service Worker (Wendy's Wonderful Kids Worker) Northern Rivers Family Services As a Child-Focused Adoption Service Worker at Wendy's Wonderful Kids, you will implement the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption's evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. You will work directly with a designated caseload of youth who are waiting for permanency, often focusing on older youth, sibling groups, and children with behavioral or trauma-based needs. You will uncover lifelong, healing connections to move these children safely toward finalization, adoption, guardianship, or reunification. You will report to the Family Finding Supervisor and will work a hybrid remote schedule. Responsibilities: Case Record Reviews: Conduct deep reviews of existing physical and electronic case files to identify historic connections, potential kin, and previous foster parents Diligent Search & Outreach: Outreach strategies to locate, contact, and engage biological family members, former connections, and potential permanent resources. Child-Focused Recruitment: Build meaningful, trusting relationships with the youth on your caseload through regular face-to-face visits, ensuring their voices and preferences guide the recruitment process Network Collaboration: Establish partnerships and communicate with county case workers, attorneys, local Department of Social Services (DSS) teams, and other service providers. Accurate Documentation: Maintain precise, data entry and administrative tracking. Compile and submit detailed quarterly recruitment plan updates, tracking all diligent search efforts and outreach metrics Travel: Travel frequently across multiple counties to conduct child visits, attend court hearings, participate in case conferences, and meet with prospective families. Training involves attending educational opportunities provided by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. These opportunities include, Wendy's Wonderful Kids classroom training, database training, webinars, and the Wendy's Wonderful Kids Summit hosted by the Foundation. Requirements and Education: Bachelor's degree required. Two years of experience working with children and families required. One or more years of experience in child welfare and juvenile detention.
