The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishware, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas in a senior living facility. This role is essential to ensuring a safe and clean dining environment for residents and staff while supporting the overall operations of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
• Wash and sanitize all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans using an industrial dishwasher or manual cleaning methods.
• Ensure all cleaned items are properly dried and stored in designated locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dishwashing area, including counters, sinks, and floors.
• Dispose of garbage and recycling in a timely and sanitary manner, following facility protocols.
• Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and fryers, as directed.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks, such as mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning drains, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify supervisors of low stock or equipment issues.
• Assist with food preparation or kitchen duties as requested by supervisors.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations during meal service and special events.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and follow cleaning protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and maintain a positive attitude.
