Description

Markon is seeking a Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager to lead and support teams delivering complex capital and infrastructure projects across a large, operational campus environment. This role may function as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager depending on experience and project needs. The position supports modernization efforts for facilities including office buildings, laboratories, utilities, and mission-critical infrastructure, all within a highly regulated, government-operated environment. This role offers the opportunity to manage large-scale projects from planning through execution in a stable setting with limited travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through the full lifecycle of capital, facility, laboratory, office, and infrastructure projects
  • Define project scope, develop execution strategies, and establish cost, schedule, procurement, and resource plans
  • Adapt project strategies to evolving budgets and government funding cycles
  • Guide projects through internal governance and government approval processes, including preparation of decision packages and submittals
  • Coordinate across engineering, construction, procurement, finance, operations, sponsors, and oversight stakeholders
  • Oversee general contractor and subcontractor execution in a highly regulated environment
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to scope changes, budget constraints, and existing infrastructure challenges
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project execution practices

Qualifications

  • Must have active DOE L clearance or a DoD secret clearance to be considered.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle
  • Experience defining project scope, execution strategies, and developing cost, schedule, procurement, and resource plans
  • Experience managing projects within evolving budgets and government funding cycles
  • Experience navigating formal governance and approval processes, including preparation of decision documentation
  • Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience overseeing contractors and subcontractors in regulated environments
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
  • Potential for telework up to 20%.

Pay Scale:

  • 0-9 years of experience - $120,000-$127,000
  • 10+ years of experience - $128,000-$145,000

Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
