The Waitress/Waiter provides attentive and friendly dining service to residents and guests in a senior living facility. This role involves taking meal orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The position requires patience, professionalism, and the ability to interact positively with senior residents.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet residents and guests warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
• Take meal orders accurately and efficiently, accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions.
• Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring correct orders and presentation standards.
• Assist residents with their dining needs, including helping those with limited mobility or other challenges.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including setting and clearing tables, resetting for the next meal, and tidying serving stations.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring all serving areas and utensils are hygienic.
• Monitor residents for any special requests or concerns during meals and address them promptly.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding menu items, dietary restrictions, and special orders.
• Assist with special events, including setup, service, and cleanup.
• Adhere to facility protocols and guidelines, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about dietary needs and restrictions for senior residents.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and perform light lifting.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing excellent service to residents.
