Mechanic Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
- Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts
- Run diagnostic tests on vehicles
- Analyze diagnostic test results
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks
- Check vehicle lighting systems
- Correctly complete complex work orders with proper coding
- Prepare work plans after fully scoping out the issues
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist
- Maintain a parts inventory
- Ensure the cleanliness of the shop
- Accept assigned jobs from supervisor
- Perform work at or above efficiency standards
- Participate in training as required
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Perform all duties and activities in a safe manner
- Report any safety issues immediately to a supervisor
Mechanic Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering
- ASE Diesel Certification advantageous
- Valid driver's license
- Aptitude for mathematics and science
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
- Good diagnostic skills
- Able to move up to 150lbs
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
- Attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Must own tools
