Job Summary: To assist the Information/Network Systems team in the administration of the system network, with installs, configurations and troubleshooting the network system and other in-house computer equipment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
•   Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security, and software on fileservers.
•   Evaluate and recommend acquisition of computer and software products.
•   Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
•   Prepare documentation such as instructional or procedural manuals.
•   Modify hardware or software.
•   Design and implement network configurations.
•   Provide consultation to information systems personnel.
•   Serve as a technical resource for agency information systems planning.
•   Serve as liaison to vendors.
•   Provide training and technical support in use of software products, ie: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, e-mail.
•   Trouble shoot and solve hardware and software problems.
•   Respond to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network.
•   Establish network users, user environment, directories and security for networks being installed.
•   Responsible for paperwork associated with software licensing, inventory and reference material.
•   Provide Technical support for internal employee network access and devices, company VPN access, uninterrupted power sources, and company phone systems.

•   Able to learn and apply new technologies as they become available.
•   Must have ability to talk with internal/external customers and interpret problems they may have with workstations and programs.
•   Must possess a pleasant and efficient telephone manner with good verbal communications skills for dealings with co-workers, vendors, and suppliers.
•   Must work well under pressure.
•   Able to obtain and maintain a valid Montana driver’s, have a good driving record, and be insured under the Cooperative’s insurance policy.
•   Able to work in a team environment and interface with other departments in a positive/productive manner.
Education/Experience
•   Applicant should have a working knowledge of servers, Microsoft product suites, computer systems and applications, network security practices, and general networking experience.
•   Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
Physical Demands
•   Sits at desk most of day.
•   Stands and walks short distances.
•   Required to stoop, bend and crawl at times.  Some ladder work will be required.
•   Handles books, papers and computer equipment.
•   Occasional lifting of weight up to 50 pounds required.
Special Demands
•   Will require some travel.
