SAIC is seeking a IT Asset Management Specialist to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM (USTC) located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois, just 20 miles outside of St. Louis, MO. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract provides strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support is provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6).

The successful candidate will serve as the application admin for the ITAM Module in ServiceNow and will be responsible for the IT Asset Management (ITAM) process, as part of the enterprise-wide ITAM Program in accordance with DOD, USTC, Air Force policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track IT procurements from beginning to end, which includes conducting market research, coordinating with financial departments, following up with vendors, tracking shipping dates and providing final reconciliation.
  • Provide requirements refinement and procurement support to USTRANSCOM Service Portfolio, end- user devices, peripheral equipment, market research, budgetary quotes, and budget estimates.
  • Provide Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP’s) for procurement management procedures, updated annually, to effectively share IT procurement management services.
  • Experience using DPAS (Defense Property Accountability System) and tracking hardware life-cycle.
  • Ensures equipment and software installed on USTC networks are licensed and obtains written permission from USTC
  • Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for any that do not have an available license.
  • Tracks and manages licenses for systems, devices, applications, and software on network and compute infrastructure and production environments.
  • Provides early notification and coordination with the Section Manager and USTC TPOC and appropriate resource advisor of upcoming expirations of maintenance, warranty, or license agreements within 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 days.
  • Delivers licenses for installation on devices and systems prior to license expiration.
  • Tracks all endpoint devices and assets for inventory management including what is in use, where it is deployed or located, how it is configured, responsible individual, serial number (or other identifying information), bar tag, and inventory status.
  • Performs lifecycle management duties as assigned including reporting and maintaining version currency, vendor/manufacturer maintenance, property receipt, inventory control, equipment staging and distribution, warranty repair coordination, erasure and cleansing, and transfer or destruction of hardware assets.
  • Warehouse Support as required- Completing Service Request tickets and deploying assets to end users.
  • Produce Weekly Activity Report.
  • This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date hardware and software asset records in the ServiceNow platform.
  • Perform daily updates in the ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules.
  • Configure and maintain the ServiceNow HAM module, including asset models, lifecycle states, and normalization rules.
  • Support asset discovery, validation, and reconciliation processes to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct physical and virtual inventories to ensure the accuracy of asset data.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights into asset inventory, compliance, and lifecycle status.
  • Provide guidance and training to end-users on asset management processes and best practices.

This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours.  However, employee may be required to provide after-hours and weekend support during planned or emergency events. 



Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS 4+ years of experience.
  • DoD Secret clearance.
  • ITIL Foundations v4 certification.
  • Service Now - Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management (within  120 days).
  • Experience with query based reporting tool.
  • Speaks and writes fluent, grammatically correct English.
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels.
  • Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to all staff levels.
  • Ability to become familiar with basic project management approaches, tools and phases.
  • Technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, particularly the HAM and SAM modules.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT asset management, with a strong focus on hardware assets and working with/for Government customers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • MA/MS 8+ years of experience.
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • ITIL®4 Specialist: IT Asset Management certification.
  • Service Now - Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with software and hardware discovery tools.
  • Experience with integrating ServiceNow with other systems, such as SCCM and procurement platforms.
