SEMO Milling has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator at our facility in Scott City, Missouri! 


The normal schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7AM-4PM. 


Human Resources experience is highly preferred.

Job Description


Reports to: Human Resources Manager 


Company Overview

SEMO Milling is a leading manufacturer of high-quality food and animal nutrition ingredients that are derived from corn. Established in 2007 and headquartered in Scott City, Missouri, we operate a dry corn mill that produces a range of products serving the Food & Beverage, Pet, and Animal Nutrition sectors.


 

I. Position Purpose

This position is responsible for providing Human Resources support with a variety of activities and tasks. 



II. Position Responsibilities and Duties 

Performing duties as directed by others to ensure the following duties are managed accurately and timely:


Human Resources Support

  • Schedule and coordinate interviews
  • Schedule pre-employment drug tests and physicals
  • Schedule orientations and prepare new hire files and orientation packets
  • In an alternating schedule with the HR Manager, conduct new hire orientations
  • Collect and organize all pre-employment documents and place them into new hire files
  • Enter new hires into ADP system
  • Break down terminated employee files
  • Perform data entry in ADP as needed
  • File documents for Human Resources
  • Perform pre-employment background checks and schedule pre-employment appointments
  • Pull and reconcile daily timecard exception reports
  • Enter job orders and place job ads
  • Assist with job fairs
  • Communicate with temp agency for ordering and ending temp associates
  • Process employee boot and prescription safety glasses reimbursements
  • Manage employee uniform account and shirt orders
  • Back up for payroll processing
  • Assist employees with general Human Resources questions and needs
  • Manage employee meals and gatherings
  • Make travel arrangements for employees and visitors
  • Manage the planning and set-up of meetings and events
  • Manage HR web-based training assignments
  • Assist with answering main phone and visitors at front door
  • Perform other tasks associated with the Employee Recognition program 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager


Quality, Safety and Sanitation

  • Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
  • Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
  • Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
  • Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers 
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
  • Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements


Open Communications to be a team player and do other tasks as necessary.

 

 

III. Experience / Education / Competencies Necessary for Success:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • 2 or more years of relevant human resources experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. 

 

IV. Direct Reports: no direct reports

 

 

V. Location: Scott City, Missouri onsite at Mill location


 

VI. Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires physical and mental alertness, attentiveness, and stamina for the length of an entire 8+ hour work shift each day. Occasional lifting of 0-50 pounds, frequent changing from a seated to standing position and occasional to frequent stair climbing are all physical demands of this position.
