Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager I to support the planning and execution of commercial renewable energy projects in the Santa Cruz, CA area. This role coordinates project schedules, documentation, financial tracking, and communication across engineering, construction, subcontractors, and client teams. The position focuses on ensuring solar, battery storage, and related infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of commercial renewable energy construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout

• Coordinate contracts, scope reviews, permits, inspections, and documentation management

• Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to maintain alignment with project timelines

• Manage project financials including cost tracking, billing coordination, forecasting, and job cost reporting

• Support procurement and subcontractor coordination including buyouts, agreements, and construction meeting participation

• Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, change orders, and technical documentation

• Collaborate with engineering, construction managers, and field teams to ensure projects remain constructible and compliant

• Participate in construction meetings and maintain communication with internal teams and project stakeholders

• Support preconstruction activities including scope distribution and responses to RFPs and RFQs

• Maintain organized records across project management systems and internal collaboration tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

• 2+ years of experience supporting construction or technical infrastructure projects

• Familiarity with commercial construction trades including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

• Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar systems

• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple project priorities in fast-paced environments

• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
