Regional West Health Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for general ledger activities, financial statement preparation, audits, and reporting for assigned corporate entities. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the organization’s financial integrity.

A Day in the Life

Your day starts with a quick check-in with the Finance team—reviewing priorities, deadlines, and any outstanding close items. You dive into the month-end close process, making sure the general ledger is accurate and all account reconciliations for your assigned entities are tight and complete.

You transition into the next task, storytelling with numbers—preparing monthly financial statements and writing clear, insightful narratives that help leadership understand the “why” behind the results, not just the figures.

As the day goes on, you may pivot to compliance work, preparing Form 990 tax returns and other regulatory filings, ensuring everything is accurate, timely, and aligned with requirements. You also set aside time to build year-end workpapers and analyses, laying the groundwork for a smooth independent audit.

Some days bring a deeper investigative focus, where you identify internal audit opportunities, conduct reviews when approved, and share your findings with leadership to strengthen processes and controls.

You stay connected to operations by supporting Accounts Payable functions or guiding AP staff, helping ensure invoices, payments, and processes run efficiently.

Throughout the week, you could be—preparing ad hoc financial analyses for Finance leadership or Medical Center management, translating data into actionable insights for decision-making.

You may also collaborate across the organization, supporting financial services relationships with Panhandle Network Hospitals, helping build strong, reliable partnerships.

No two days are exactly the same, but you regularly participate in Finance department meetings, contribute your expertise, and help drive alignment across initiatives.

Just as important as the technical work, you spend time building relationships across departments, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting through collaboration and trust.

And because growth matters, you engage in professional development and Medical Center-related activities, staying sharp and connected to the broader healthcare finance community.

By the end of the day, you’ve done more than close the books—you’ve helped ensure the organization’s financial integrity, supported key decisions, and contributed to the mission of delivering exceptional care.
