Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Control Coordinator is responsible for coordinating production schedules, raw material flow, inventory reporting, settlements support, and inbound/outbound logistics within a fast-paced metals manufacturing environment. The role works closely with Commercial, Production, Logistics, Shipping & Receiving, Accounting, and Operations teams to support efficient daily operations, inventory control, and on-time delivery performance across multiple facilities. 


REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Manager

SUPERVISES:


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate inbound raw material deliveries and outbound shipment schedules to support production demands and On Time Delivery (OTD) goals.
  • Support production scheduling and inventory control activities across multiple facilities. 
  • Work closely with Plant Managers, Logistics, Shipping & Receiving, Operations, and Commercial teams to coordinate material flow and production schedules.
  • Generate and maintain purchase orders, settlement documentation, inventory records, and operational reports.
  • Compile and distribute reports related to inventory, production activity, and buying positions. 
  • Maintain spreadsheets, load sheets, appointment software, and other operational tracking systems.
  • Serve as communication point between Operations, Accounting, Buyers, Commercial teams, scale attendants, and plant personnel regarding scheduling and inventory activity.
  • Provide cross-functional support and backup coverage for related administrative and coordination functions as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain regular attendance and compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. 


Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field, preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, metals, recycling, logistics, or industrial environments is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of office, administrative, scheduling, inventory, logistics, or production support experience is required. 


COMPETENCIES:

  • Self-starter that takes initiative with a high attention to detail 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel 
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
  • May occasionally be required to visit production, warehouse, or foundry areas, which may involve exposure to heat, noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and adapt to changing operational demands.
