Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and business‑oriented Deputy General Counsel to join our in‑house corporate legal team. In this visible and influential role, you will lead procurement contracting strategy, oversee corporate governance, and support complex corporate transactions. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative, high‑impact legal team supporting an organization positioned for continued growth. This position will report to the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. This position will also manage a team dedicated to executing in this span of responsibilities.
Education Requirements:
- JD degree is required.
- Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with at least one jurisdiction and be eligible to become licensed as an attorney or register as in-house counsel in another jurisdiction if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Leads legal strategies for procurement agreements, corporate transactions and governance acting as a key advisor to senior management.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements.
- Advise and support leadership on corporate governance.
- Lead and oversee corporate transactions including M&A.
- Provide guidance on risk mitigation and regulatory matters.
- Develop contracting templates and governance processes.
- Partner with business units to align legal strategy.
- Manage outside counsel selection, engagement, budgets, billing compliance, and performance.
- Product licensing and agreements and trademarks experience
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years legal experience in a corporate setting with expertise in procurement, vendor, services, and technology contracting.
- Experience with financial services industry regulations.
- Strong background in Corporate governance with board‑facing experience.
- Experience leading Merger and Acquisitions and corporate transactions experience.
- Strong business judgment and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple entities.
Preferred Requirements:
- People Management experience.
- Familiarity with contract management and Legal Matter Management systems.
