About the role

Uplinq is looking for an experienced and strategic HR Manager to lead and scale our people operations. In this role, you will own the full HR function — from building and executing people programs to fostering a high-performance culture as we grow. You will lead and develop our HR Generalist/Company Administrator and serve as a trusted partner to leadership across the organization.

Reports to: Director of Business Operations

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop the HR Generalist/Company Administrator, providing coaching, guidance, and clear performance expectations across both their HR and administrative responsibilities.
  • Serve as the primary HR business partner to department heads, providing strategic guidance on talent, employee relations, and organizational design.
  • Own end-to-end HR operations including compensation and benefits strategy, leave administration, payroll oversight, and compliance.
  • Design and implement scalable people programs — onboarding, performance management, compensation cycles, and career development frameworks.
  • Build and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to ensure legal compliance and reflect Uplinq's culture.
  • Lead employee relations matters, conducting investigations and providing resolution guidance with consistency and fairness.
  • Drive recruiting strategy and workforce planning in partnership with leadership as the company scales.
  • Champion culture and employee engagement initiatives that align with company values.
  • Own HR reporting, analytics, and metrics to inform data-driven people decisions.
  • Administer and optimize Rippling and connected HR technology; identify opportunities to improve workflows, integrations, and automation across the platform.
  • Ensure the organization remains compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of HR experience, including all HR roles and at least 1–2 years in a management or lead role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale people programs in a high-growth startup or tech environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Rippling a plus; familiarity with other HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Gusto, Workday, or ADP is strongly preferred, as the company's needs may evolve.
  • Proven track record managing employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean team environment where the HR function is shared across HR and administrative responsibilities.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
