Job DetailsJob Location: Scottsdale Office - Scottsdale, AZ 85255Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: ManagementAffiliated Dermatology is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our flagship and largest practice location. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who understands what it takes to keep a busy medical practice running effectively. We are looking for a manager who can balance people, providers, patients, schedules, operational priorities, and the unexpected challenges that come with healthcare, all while keeping the office moving forward. This is a working floor manager position. The right person will be present, engaged, and accessible to the team. You should be equally comfortable coaching an employee, reviewing staffing and performance metrics, addressing a patient concern, troubleshooting a workflow issue, and stepping onto the floor to help the team when patient volume or staffing demands require it. If your management style is to lead from behind a desk, this likely will not be the right fit. If you like being where the action is, solving problems in real time, and building a team that can perform in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the overall performance and daily operations of the location, including: Lead, coach, develop, and hold staff accountable for performance and expectations. Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence throughout the practice. Manage daily staffing and workflows to support patient volumes and provider needs. Create and maintain employee schedules, adjusting resources as operational needs change. Anticipate staffing and workflow challenges and address them before they impact patient care or the team. Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and develop employees. Conduct regular employee check-ins and performance evaluations and address performance or conduct concerns promptly. Partner closely with providers to identify operational needs, resolve concerns, and support efficient clinic flow. Monitor patient volumes, labor allocation, supply expenses, staffing needs, and other key operational metrics. Manage labor and inventory budgets with an understanding of the financial impact of operational decisions. Identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements to workflows, processes, and communication. Handle escalated patient concerns professionally and work toward appropriate resolution. Coordinate equipment, facility, and supply needs. Ensure practice policies, procedures, safety standards, HIPAA requirements, and applicable regulations are consistently followed. Serve as a liaison between the office and departments including Operations, Human Resources, Revenue Cycle Management, IT, Marketing, and Finance. Communicate clearly with leadership regarding staffing, provider needs, operational concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Step in and work alongside the team when needed. No task is "beneath the manager" when it comes to keeping the practice running effectively and supporting patients, providers, and staff. What We're Looking For We aren't looking for someone with 15 or 20 years of management experience. We are looking for someone whose experience has given them a strong understanding of how a medical practice actually operates.   About Affiliated Dermatology Affiliated Dermatology is a long-standing, growing Arizona dermatology practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services in 8 locations in Maricopa County. Our Operations Managers play an important role in creating an environment where providers can focus on patient care, employees have the support and direction they need to succeed, and patients receive an efficient and professional experience. This position will lead our flagship office, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare manager who enjoys being deeply involved in practice operations and wants to make a measurable impact.QualificationsRequired: At least 3 years of healthcare supervisory or management experience, preferably in a physician practice or ambulatory setting. Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operations of a medical office or clinical practice. Experience directly supervising staff, including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and employee accountability. Working knowledge of clinical practice workflows and the relationship between front office, clinical staff, providers, and administrative functions. Experience working with EMR and HRIS or workforce-management systems. Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple competing needs without losing sight of follow-through. Strong judgment and the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-moving environment. Ability to remain composed and solution-focused when staffing, patient, provider, or operational issues arise. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability and willingness to be a hands-on, working manager who is actively engaged with the team. Preferred: Experience managing a high-volume, multi-provider medical practice. Dermatology or specialty physician-practice experience. Experience managing approximately 20–30 employees. Experience with practice budgets, labor management, productivity metrics, and operational reporting. CPPM certification or a degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field. You'll Be Successful Here If You... You are the person who notices when the schedule is about to become a problem before it becomes a problem. You can walk into a busy clinic, quickly determine what needs attention first, and organize people and resources accordingly. You don't become overwhelmed when five things need your attention at once; you prioritize, communicate, delegate appropriately, and follow through. You understand that managing a healthcare practice requires both leadership and execution. You hold people accountable while still being willing to work beside them. You build credibility with employees because you're visible and consistent, and with providers because you understand their operational needs and respond. Most importantly, you take ownership. When something isn't working, your first instinct is to figure out why and what needs to happen next. Schedule Requirements: Travel up to 25% Monday through Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and bending
