ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Project Captain, you will collaborate directly with the Project Manager and Project Directors, overseeing the coordination and creation of project design deliverables and construction documentation. To thrive in this role, you must be a strong leader who can mentor and guide project production teams to ensure that documents are completed on time and to the highest quality.

 

THE HEART OF YOUR ROLE: RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dynamically support and coordinate all phases: planning, programming, design, engineering, construction, and project closeout.
  • Creatively prepare sketches by studying architectural/engineering descriptions and specifications, creating a vivid picture of the physical, functional, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Proactively support efforts related to scoping, estimating, and proposal creation.
  • Serve as an expert resource and guide for less experienced BIM staff, helping to solve challenging or complex model issues that may arise.
  • Assist the Project Manager by providing detailed sketches and precise revisions as needed.
  • Develop, organize, and review building plans, as well as prepare comprehensive bid documents and construction contract documents for general contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements by adhering to codes and regulations and expertly navigating the permitting process.
  • Diligently review outgoing correspondence for accuracy and completeness, ensuring impeccable spelling and presentation.
  • Consistently meet required deadlines, maintain drawing quality standards, and exceed client expectations with every project.
  • Travel to design and coordination meetings and job sites, bringing valuable insights and expertise.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Required Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in an architecture firm or a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading production teams.
  • Willingness to travel for project-related meetings and site visits.
