Description

Bungalow is seeking a full-time Senior Home Stylist / Design Sales Specialist to serve as a trusted, on-floor design partner for our home furnishings clientele. This is a sales-driven, relationship-based role for someone who can translate a customer’s lifestyle into a well-layered home — and confidently guide them from inspiration to purchase across furniture, lighting, textiles, and décor.

Our clients come to Bungalow expecting more than “retail help.” They want taste, product knowledge, space-planning confidence, and a professional who can make decisions feel easy. If you’re equal parts stylist + seller — and you love building rooms, not just ringing sales — we’d love to meet you.

Please share your style aesthetic with us: include your resume plus a list of 12 things you love (brands, materials, places, designers, colors, objects, etc.).

What You’ll Do

Client Experience + Design Selling

  • Deliver a high-touch, design-forward client experience on the showroom floor—warm, confident, and expertly guided.
  • Build complete rooms and layered vignettes with clients: furniture + rugs + lighting + textiles + finishing details.
  • Lead consultations that include needs discovery, lifestyle listening, budget alignment, and clear next steps.
  • Create quotes and proposals, manage special orders, and communicate timelines with accuracy and care.
  • Follow through after the sale: confirmation, updates, delivery coordination support, and issue resolution when needed.

Clienteling + Relationship Development

  • Proactively build and maintain a book of business through consistent outreach, follow-up, and appointment setting.
  • Capture client preferences, projects, and purchase history to create repeat visits and long-term loyalty.
  • Partner with designers and local trade clients when applicable, maintaining a polished, professional presence.

Sales Performance + Floor Leadership

  • Consistently meet or exceed individual sales goals while contributing to store-wide performance.
  • Stay fluent in key categories and vendors—construction, materials, care, lead times, and “why it’s worth it.”
  • Contribute to a strong selling culture: elevate the floor, set the tone, and support teammates in peak moments.

Merchandising + Presentation Standards

  • Maintain showroom excellence: styling, replenishment, recovery, and visual standards that reflect Bungalow’s level.
  • Assist with floor moves and product storytelling—making sure displays feel intentional, fresh, and shoppable.
  • Support receiving and placement of merchandise with an eye for pacing, grouping, and finish.

What We’re Looking For

  • A confident design seller who can close while still feeling consultative, relaxed, and client-first.
  • Strong taste level and a clear point of view (but not precious) — you can adapt your style to the client.
  • Excellent communication skills: you’re clear, composed, and proactive (especially around timelines and expectations).
  • Highly organized follow-through: you keep projects moving and details tight without needing reminders.
  • Calm problem-solver: you handle concerns with tact, ownership, and a solutions-first mindset.
  • Team-minded and standards-driven: you protect the brand experience and help raise the bar for the floor.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in luxury retail, home furnishings, design sales, or a related client-facing design role.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales environment (commission or goal-based preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of furniture, textiles, finishes, and styling principles (proportion, scale, layering).
  • Comfortable with POS systems, quoting/special orders, and basic inventory workflows.
  • Available to work a full-time schedule including weekends (retail peak days).
  • High school diploma required; design education/training is a plus.
