Job Title: Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technician
Summary:
The Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure continuous and safe operations. This role involves preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and technical support for production and facility equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues such as motors, pumps, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Inspect, test, and repair electrical components including wiring, circuits, sensors, relays, control panels, and PLC systems.
Use technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform maintenance and repairs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update logs of equipment performance and repairs.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and OSHA regulations.
Assist in equipment installation, upgrades, and calibration of new or existing systems.
Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of issues and recommend improvements.
Maintain an organized work area and ensure all tools and parts are in good condition.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance (industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment).
Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, including low- and high-voltage systems.
Experience with PLC systems, VFDs, sensors, and industrial automation preferred.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
Familiar with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and reporting.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.
