City of Seabrook | Parks Maintenance I

The City of Seabrook is looking for a dependable Parks Maintenance Worker to join our Parks team. This role helps maintain parks, recreational facilities, trails, and public spaces that residents and visitors use throughout the year.

What You'll Do

  • Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and general landscaping throughout City parks and public spaces
  • Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of playground equipment, trails, benches, shelters, and other park amenities
  • Maintain restrooms, picnic areas, and recreational facilities
  • Support maintenance and repair work involving fencing, painting, carpentry, and other facility upkeep
  • Operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment including mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, and utility vehicles
  • Assist with drainage and grounds maintenance to help keep parks safe and functional
  • Support cleanup efforts and help maintain clean, welcoming public spaces
  • Assist with supervising community service workers assigned to maintenance tasks

This role supports the appearance, safety, and overall quality of the City's parks and recreational areas.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license
  • Class B CDL preferred, but not required
  • Ability to safely operate landscaping and maintenance equipment
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work well with others and follow safety procedures
  • No prior experience required - training provided for the right candidate

Work Environment

This is a physically active, outdoor position. Employees may work in heat, humidity, noise, and around landscaping equipment, tools, and active work zones.

The role requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and operating equipment throughout the workday. Personal protective equipment is provided and required when necessary.

Additional Requirements

  • Classified as Essential Personnel and must be available for emergency call-in during severe weather or disaster events
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, and the public
