Hostess, Full Time, Dietary

1. Education: High school degree or GED equivalent. Job requires reading, writing and math. Some computer knowledge useful. Completion of coursework in Nutrition helpful.

2.    Training and Experience:    Ability to understand written and oral instructions.  Good communication and telephone skills essential.  Pleasant disposition needed due to extensive patient contact.  Previous experience as a nursing assistant or in other patient-related position desirable but not required.  Requires on-the-job training.  

3.    Job Knowledge:  Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines established.  Must practice basic skills in sanitation and safety.  Must have knowledge of basic food groups.

4.    Safety Sensitive:   YES

DESCRIPTION:

Performs variety of duties related to verbal menu selection for patients.  Delivers and collects patient food trays.  Responsible for estimating and recording percentage of intake for patients for all ages.

Physical Effort:  Long hours of standing, walking, bending, pushing and lifting up to 50 pounds.  Manual dexterity and motion coordination helpful.

Mental Effort:  Must be able to perform short cycle repetitive duties under stressful situations.
