The pay for this role is $22-25 per hour DOE. The shift for this role is Monday – Friday between the hours of ~9:00 AM to ~9:00 PM. Coverage on Saturday or Sunday may be required.

We have an incredible opening for a Cook to join our team! Our Cooks are responsible for food production and preparation, and oversee the back-of-house activity, including assisting in management of kitchen operations. You’ll work with an incredible staff dedicated to ensuring a high quality of culinary excellence for our community.

The responsibilities of our Cook:

  • Ensure compliance with Resident dietary restrictions.
  • Conduct regular Quality Assurance Audits.
  • Maintaining Kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling practices and ensure compliance with King County and DSHS regulations.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with food and equipment venders.
  • Hiring, orientation, training, and evaluation of kitchen staff.
  • Supervise and assign duties to production and utility personnel
  • Create a motivating environment that encourages employee involvement, creativity, and problem solving.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Chef in his absence.
  • Other duties as assigned 

What you need to succeed:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Cook/Chef, preferably in a senior living community.
  • Ability to prepare high quality food for our residents,
  • Able to work Holidays and pre-planned events.
  • Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment venders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
  • Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course.

Physical Requirements Include:

  • On occasion, you may need to push, pull, lift to 50lbs.
