Senior Data Security Software Engineer

This is an on-site position at one of the following Dell locations: Hopkinton or Franklin, Massachusetts; Austin, Texas; Durham, North Carolina; Seattle, Washington; or Santa Clara, California.  

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Data Security Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing common security related software that will be integrated into Dell’s server and storage products.

You will:

  • Contribute to the design and architecture of new or re-engineered cryptography security-related software/services
  • Implement modern encryption / decryption algorithms, crypto key management system and work on the Post Quantum Computing (PQC) model integration
  • Work under a BSAFE mentor - the team which invented , developed and patented Secure Socket Layer (SSL) standards
  • Directly collaborate with best-in-class storage solution engineers at Dell Technologies
  • Build and review design, functional, technical and user documentation; develop, review and implement test strategies for software products and systems

Essential Requirements

  • 5+ years software development experience, including embedded systems, or equivalent skill
  • Highly skilled in C, Java and/or Python; must be proficient at writing efficient code and debugging
  • Ability to pick up new languages, tools and operating systems quickly
  • Exposure to, or knowledge of, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Commercial National Security Algorithm (CNSA) Suite 2.0 and CNSS Policy 15
  • Excellent collaboration skills and readiness to work with international development teams

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’ degree in Computer Engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with Transport Layer Security (TLS), Key Management/Data At Rest Encryption (DARE)

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $149,600K - $222,200K (depends on location).
