Skyline- Fitness Specialist (Full and Part Time)

The pay for this role is $24 - $30 per hour DOE. Do you have a passion for people, and are looking for a reliable, enjoyable time role where you will be valued?  If so, we can’t wait to talk with you!  We have an exciting opportunity at Skyline, a Transforming Age community.  

Our Fitness Specialist:

  • Assesses and evaluates senior residents’ needs for exercise and fitness.  Works with residents individually and in groups.  Plans individual fitness programs for participating residents;

  • Supervises or presents exercise programs that may include exercises in the pool;

  • Assists team members with orientation to Fitness Center, procedures, and policies;

  • Produces promotional materials, newsletters, flyers, etc. as required;

  • Inspects, cleans and maintains equipment;

  • Maintains records of residents’ progress;

  • Assist with collecting data and reports for fitness activities as required

  • Provides in-service trainings as required;

  • Works in collaboration with other professionals to provide appropriate assistance to residents;

  • Performs administrative functions for the department;

  • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility;

  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities. 

 

What you need to succeed!

  • Bachelor’s degree in an exercise-related discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience (3 or more years of fitness related experience

  • National Fitness Certification required (ACSM preferred, but not required.

  • Experience in prescribing exercise to special populations preferred;

  • Must be able to demonstrate proper uses of the exercise equipment;

Physical Requirements include: 

  • Must be able to physically assist in safe exercise and the safe operation of the equipment. 

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs.
