Mott MacDonald is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aviation Team Lead to join our Seattle, WA office. This leadership role combines program management expertise with technical expertise and driving strategic growth in aviation infrastructure while fostering client relationships and delivering high-impact projects. 

 

You will lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and delivery of aviation programs, while actively engaging in business development and client management. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable aviation infrastructure across North America. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead complex aviation infrastructure programs from inception through delivery. 

  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. 

  • Ensure alignment with client goals, regulatory requirements, and sustainability targets. 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships across public and private sectors. 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in aviation and transportation markets. 

  • Prepare proposals, lead presentations, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives. 

  • Provide technical guidance across airside and landside civil engineering, terminal design, and airport systems. 

  • Collaborate with global experts on masterplanning, asset management, and decarbonization strategies. 

  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with industry standards. 

  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture. 

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including planning, operations, and finance. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field. 

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent preferred. 

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in aviation infrastructure, with a focus on program management. 

  • Proven track record in business development and client engagement. 

  • Strong understanding of airport lifecycle, including planning, design, operations, and sustainability. 

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

The expected salary for this position is $181,000 - $201,000. 

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
