Overview
Cheese Helper Clerks assist in the Cheese department within the deli, including cutting and wrapping and merchandising. They provide excellent customer service. They demonstrate knowledge of cheese varieties and wrapping and handling procedures.

Main Job Responsibilities
- Provides excellent, professional customer service
- Works with the Cheese Specialist to prepare, package and merchandise cheese products
- Demonstrates knowledge of cheese varieties and families, specialty foods, and deli prepared foods
- Provides deli counter service when needed
- Follows department cheese wrapping and handling procedures
- Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met   Â
- Follows department safe food handling procedures
- Follows department merchandising standards and procedures
- Performs other related duties when needed

Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Familiarity with cheese varieties preferred
- Familiarity with specialty and prepared foods
- Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
