HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER has an outstanding opportunity for a Commercial Plumber to join its maintenance organization.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-Time, 100% FTE position
  • Monday-Friday, Days (7 AM – 3:30 PM)
  • No Telework

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Perform skilled work commercial building systems such as alteration of plumbing, steam, pipefitting and specialty piping systems.
  • Opportunity to work in a variety of settings within the hospital, research facilities, morgues, laboratories, commercial kitchens and patient care areas.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to daily hospital customer orders for things such as, but not limited to, clogs, leaks, dripping faucets, steam radiators not working, etc. 
  • Install, remove and repair all categories of plumbing fixtures.
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain potable water, waste, vent, and process piping systems.
  • Repair and maintain piping, tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, and associated systems.
  • Install, service and adjust pumps, ejectors, valves, stills, dishwashers, coils, and heat exchangers.
  • Follow proper procedures for working on medical gas piping, testing, alarm systems, and leak detection.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot piping, traps, regulators, strainers, and condensate systems.


REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter, OR full journey status as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter in a union, OR four years’ applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
