Amazon is seeking a creative, and highly proactive Communications Manager to drive press and influencer comms for Kindle and Fire Tablets. In this role, you will execute end-to-end PR & communications strategy and execution for Amazon's Kindle e-reader and Fire Tablet launches and drive proactive campaigns that keep both lines top-of-mind between launch moments. This is not a GTM role—this role requires a leader with passion, creativity, bias for action, and a relentless focus on driving results that map to our business and reputational objectives.

You will craft innovation thought leadership and storytelling that positions Kindle and Fire Tablets as category leaders in digital reading, entertainment, and productivity. You'll translate complex hardware and software capabilities into narratives that resonate with media and customers. You'll also build and maintain relationships with key technology, consumer electronics, education, and lifestyle media contacts — spanning press and influencers — securing high-impact coverage that drives business results.

As part of this role, you'll build trust with cross-functional (and geographically dispersed) partners, including product, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership teams. You will develop integrated communications strategies that align with business objectives and product roadmaps and manage agency relationships and external comms resources to extend your team's reach. Basic Qualifications: - 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage in top-tier technology and consumer publications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate technical concepts for broad audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic communications plans that drive business results.
- Extreme proactivity—a desire to drive campaigns and storytelling, outside of launch moments. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience managing complex product launches and multiple concurrent hardware review programs.
- Ability to earn trust with senior, executive-level leaders.
- Experience in consumer technology communications.
- Demonstrated track record of developing successful proactive PR campaigns and thought leadership programs.
- Experience working with engineering and product teams in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
- Established relationships with technology reporters and influencers.
- Understanding of AI technology, hardware design processes, or emerging technology trends.
- Ability to develop long-term communications strategies aligned with business goals.
- Demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives from complex technical information.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with internal partners and external media.
- Focus on measurable outcomes and media impact that drive business and reputational objectives.
- Creativity in developing breakthrough campaigns and storytelling approaches.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities.
