Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our Amazon Web Services (AWS) product development teams. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, artificial intelligence and machine learning, agentic AI and more.

We're looking for a products counseling attorney to support AWS's Applied AI Solutions business. In this role, you will work directly with business teams as lead counsel to develop AWS AI products and services. Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including public policy, privacy, marketing and go-to-market teams.

You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities
- Identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies;
- Advising on regulatory issues (including privacy-related issues);
- Overseeing compliance, negotiating strategic technology agreements and providing input on business strategy;
- Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways; and
- Helping build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly.

A day in the life
In a typical day of a Corporate Counsel in AWS Products Legal, you may conduct meetings with several of your client teams to discuss upcoming product launches, provide advice on draft contracts to a business lead, develop a strategy document for a novel legal issue impacting AWS, and attend a meeting with business leaders to review an important project.

Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
