ABOUT THE ROLE 
The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for leading all plant electrical activities, including troubleshooting, maintenance, instrumentation support, controls/PLC diagnostics, and project execution. This role ensures safe, reliable, and continuous operation of plant electrical systems across multiple MCCs, PLC platforms, and diverse instrumentation.

 

The Electrical Supervisor serves as the plant’s subject-matter expert for electrical power distribution, control systems, and automation, and provides hands-on technical leadership to electricians, contractors, and operations personnel.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across 4160V, 480V, 240V, and 120V equipment to minimize downtime and ensure reliable plant operations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems, including transmitters, sensors, control valves, and other field devices, to support accurate and reliable plant performance.
  • Diagnose PLC, HMI, I/O, and communication issues and support automation improvements to maintain stable and efficient control of plant processes.
  • Lead electrical and controls work for capital and maintenance projects, ensuring installations, upgrades, and modifications are completed safely, effectively, and in accordance with plant standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors and electrical work, ensuring projects and maintenance activities meet quality, schedule, documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Support equipment startups, shutdowns, and emergency response activities, providing timely troubleshooting and technical support to restore operations.
  • Drive electrical and control reliability improvements through preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate electrical and controls documentation, including work orders, PMs, as-built drawings, and records of system modifications.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring electrical work is performed in accordance with LOTO, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable plant safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent industrial electrical certification
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Electrical, or related field
Required Work Experience: 10+ years of industrial electrical experience
Required Training/Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent; NFPA 70E familiarity
Required Technical Skills: MCCs, VFDs, motor controls, Schneider Electric Modicon Quantum and MS&D PLCs, GE Proficy iFIX HMI/SCADA software, instrumentation, electrical troubleshooting, Concept, and EcoStruxure Control Expert software.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working with aging infrastructure and mixed control systems.
  • Experience leading electricians, contractors, or technical teams.
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication with operations and leadership.
  • Proactive and reliable approach to preventing equipment failures.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including noise, dust, confined spaces, heights, and tight areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work occasional off-shift hours or respond to emergency call-ins.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
