Join Kline Galland, one of the most respected senior care organizations in the Pacific Northwest, as a Per-Diem Hospice Chaplain and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families across King County. As a Hospice Chaplain, you will provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families facing end-of-life journeys. You’ll be part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team committed to delivering holistic, person-centered care. General Responsibilities: Provides or coordinates spiritual support to patients, families and caregivers. Contacts patient/family clergy or spiritual representative when appropriate. Conducts funeral services when requested by the patient's family. Participates in on-call counseling services when required. This may require some weekend shift work Provides spiritual support to the hospice staff and volunteers. Submits paperwork in a timely manner to update and maintain patient hospice medical records. Participates in regularly scheduled Family Support and IDG meetings to coordinate the spiritual care of the patient/family, exchange information and problem solve, and receive staff support and education. Participates in agency quality improvement programs. Participates in Hospice programs providing orientation, training, and in-service. Provides timely assessment of all hospice patients as requested by family support team. Adheres to established company policies. Accepts other assignments deemed appropriate Develops and maintains relationships with local spiritual leaders   QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited School of Theology and is ordained as a minister or has completed a minimum of one (1) unit of clinical pastoral education or has the equivalent pastoral experience or as required by state specific guidelines. Requirements: Experience working with death and dying, terminal individuals and their families and/or caregivers Hospice experience preferred Knowledge and commitment to hospice philosophy of care Excellent verbal and written communication & organizational skills Able to work independently and with a team Able to perform and prioritize multiple functions or tasks Able to effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical employees, patients & family/caregivers Proof of valid drivers license & reliable, insured transportation Meet applicable federal and state health requirements to provide services to patients Meet requirements of federal and state criminal/abuse background checks
