| Provides prompt, courteous and professional handling of correspondence, telephone calls, photocopying and faxes while assisting legal administrative assistants, switchboard operators and receptionists.
Sets up files as directed, codes documents and routes materials to the proper person, and files to ensure that materials are well-organized, maintained and accessible to timekeepers.
Prepares forms, including expense reports and supply requisitions.
Learns to prepare pleadings/agreements and to enter time into firm specific time-entry software.
Works on special projects as assigned by supervisor and/or floor coordinators.
Participates in periodic meetings to ensure and improve work group effectiveness.
Works well while working and cooperating with other employees for the benefit of the firm.
Spends one hour per day using software currently in use at the firm to build typing speed and increase knowledge of legal terminology until reaching a goal of 50 wpm.
Attends training sessions offered at the firm in order to become proficient with software currently in use at the firm.
Will learn and provide back-up reception/Guest Services desk assistance as needed.
Communicates courteously and professionally by phone and in person, using good communication skills.
Maintains a neat and orderly workplace.
Keeps supervisor abreast of current issues and potential problems as they develop; seeks advice as needed.
Uses office equipment including phones, typewriters, photocopy machines, facsimile machines and calculators.
Follows adequate safety procedures while carrying out all duties. |
